BOLD IDEAS, NEW LEADERSHIP FOR LINCOLN PARK

KEEP LINCOLN PARK SAFE, SUPPORT OUR POLICE
We need to support our Lincoln Park Police Officers with the resources they need to succeed and keep us safe. Too often, we hire new Police Officers in only to train them in Lincoln Park and watch them leave for another community. If we want to attract and retain the best people we need to offer better pay and benefits to our future and current Police Officers.

KEEP LINCOLN PARK SAFE, SUPPORT OUR FIRE
We need to equip our Firefighters, EMS Technicians , and Paramedics with good pay and benefits that keep us in line with our neighboring communities. Lincoln Park shouldn't be a training ground for other communities Firefighters and Paramedics, we want to offer our men and women competitive salaries and benefits that will keep them here. We need to give our first responders all the modern tools and equipment they need to do their jobs safely and ensure they can always respond to a crisis in a timely manner.

EXPANDING MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Police and law enforcement cannot be a one sized fits all approach. Different situations with people require there own, unique response. Someone who is engaged in a mental health emergency or domestic violence situation may need help beyond just the Police. That is why I believe we should invest in mental health programs like disability-sensitive and sensory training programs.

ATTRACTING AND RETAINING THE BEST TALENT
We've seen high turnover recently among our Lincoln Park Public Works employees. We need to retain and add more Public Works employees here in our city. By finding new funding sources, we can add more Public Works employees to our community and have more competitive pay and benefits to retain them. By adding more Public Works employees we can get more work done on our neighborhood roads, for water and sewer systems, by trimming more trees, doing regular park maintenance, and more.

IMPORVING OUR PARKS AND RECREATION
I currently serve on our Parks and Recreation Committee here in Lincoln Park. I know great amenities like beautiful, well kept parks with new things for people to do in them can go along way to attracting new residents to our community and improving the quality of life for everyone. We must increase investments in our parks and continue to add new recreational programs and services for kids, families, and seniors to enjoy. I also want to build dedicated bike lanes for bike riders to enjoy and create a safer riding experience for those riding bikes across our community.

REBUILDING OUR ROADS AND INSFRASTRUCTURE
Good, well built infrastructure like the neighborhood roads we drive on and the water and sewer systems we rely on are the backbone of a strong community. We need to continue making regular investments in our neighborhood roads, water and sewer systems all across Lincoln Park. We cannot neglect basic maintenance and repairs to our infrastructure, otherwise we risk having significant issues like broken roads with potholes, water main breaks during the winter, and unsafe water to drink. As apart of making regular investments, we need to expand our Public Works Crew.

PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT
There is no Planet B, only our Planet Earth. We owe it to ourselves and future generations to ensure we are doing all we can to combat climate change, cut down on our use of plastics, recycle better, conserve more, and find sustainable sources of energy to power our everyday needs. Here in Lincoln Park, we need to encourage better recycling practices among residents to ensure we sustain our recycling program and cut down on the waste that we send to the landfill. I'm also committed to making Lincoln Park a green city by planting more native trees and plants across the city.

MAKING AN INCLUSIVE, WELCOMING CITY FOR ALL
A diversity of people, cultures, and ideas are strong building blocks for any community, but especially here in Lincoln Park. I want to ensure we have a diverse, inclusive, welcoming community for people from every background and walk of life. No matter your race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or gender identity, we welcome you here.
